Well, here goes. I'm going to try to blog in two places now, here and on my Yahoo 360 page. Don't know exactly how it's going to work out, because I've tried this before using LiveJournal and didn't get too far with it. Not because there's anything wrong with LiveJournal, but because I'm basically lazy and have a hard time updating one site, much less two. But as my mom used to say, "We shall see what we shall see." I tend to practice perfectionist procrastination, which is to say that if I don't think I can do something perfectly, or at least to my standards, I procrastinate and often wind up not doing it at all.
I'm sitting here at the computer with The Man napping behind me (oops, he just woke up) and The Cat and Kittens napping in their box next to the bed. It's almost time for me to begin getting ready to go back to work after an impromptu mini-vacation, and while I'm not eagerly awaiting the alarm in the morning, neither am I as reluctant to go back as I usually am. In fact, I've got that vague feeling of guilt starting. The one that says "What exactly have you accomplished over the past 4 days? Why aren't you working? What are you doing anyway? Why didn't you unpack those boxes like you said you were going to do?" Well, you get the idea. My inner nag.
Well, on the surface I haven't done a whole lot, but I am pretty well-rested now. I did get the new pair of shoes I needed, and I did a reading. I got a few household chores done, just not the box moving stuff I'd planned, though the night isn't over yet so I may still do a bit of it before The Man steps in tomorrow and moves the boxes to our newly vacant upstairs room.
I also made it to the Wacky Wonderful World of Walmart to get a hub to try to get The Man's toy online at the same time mine is...my piece of junk masquerading as a computer declines to cooperate, so we're back to square one. Which should be okay for the next few days since I'm working Monday-Friday this week.
And now I've started this, yet another blog. I'm going to post on the 360 one in a little while, because I enjoy the community there as well, but this is a bit different.
Speaking of yet another blog, I'm amazed at the number and variety of social networking boards that are around these days! MySpace, of course, which seems to have become part of the lexicon of the early 21st century. I just don't connect well with MySpace, for some reason, though I do have a page there. And LiveJournal, as I said before. The movie site Flixter.com, which is inexplicably addictive. Then there's Tribe.net, Bebo.com, Zebo.com, Kaboodle.com...each of which I've joined at the behest of friends, yet I can't remember now who they were! How can anyone keep up? It would be a full time job to monitor and update all of those sites...I'm sure there are more, I just can't think of them right now. I barely manage to write one entry a week, answer regular email, and participate in the 2 message boards .
Well, anyways. My supper is ready so I'm going to go rescue it from the oven.
